The best place before thumbnail image preview is 12, 24, 60 etc. Please be advised that there some CSS tricks which allows keeping your thumbnails previews grid organised when ad unit appears. It works on modern layouts build following W3C standards and requires some tweaks on our side. If you want us to make it for you, don't hesitate to ask the support.
For the sites with different desktop and mobile version, the better idea is building two different ad units to put it on the various site position.
For the sites with video, the best results come from the position below the "related movies" or even better inside the "related" block. Ad units work perfectly on the content sections as well.
